Where is pen and exercise book taking us?
I have encountered a great challenge with the use of ICT skills at my masters level of education, this made me realize that i had poor knowledge on the use of ICT. At the masters level of education its not only the use of ICT but also understanding different applications and software that will make me sustain, there after i need to spend much of my time engaging in ICT practices like goggling for different materials, communicating with my peers for the sake of getting information as well as doing my assignments.
As far as we are engaged in the global world, the use of ICT in education becomes inevitable. It has to start from the lowest level of education up to the higher institutions.schools need to employ ICT materials to facilitate teaching and learning process at all levels of education. Students need to make application of what they have learn instead of focusing only on theories.
Many students consider ICT tools very helpful in that it helps them to do assignments and they normally assume responsibilities when they use ICT to organize their work through digital portfolios or projects.
With the use of ICT students will be able to access different materials like text books, articles, journals, using dictionaries and work efficiently whenever they have a task to accomplish.

Empower different skills, like being innovative, access to information, being creative in designing different things that are associated with their studies to enrich their capabilities and develop lifelong learning.
It also helps to reduce the social disparities between students, since they work in teams in order to achieve a given task, students will be able to socialize and get entertained, for example when they are engaged in community networks like facebook, twitter, WatsApp, Viber, Skype etc, by doing so they will be able to interact with their peers, share experiences and being able to link to the community and extend their understandings.
ICT also help teachers to work in teams and share ideas related to school curriculum, however with the use of ICT teachers are able to plan different classroom activities that will engage students directly in teaching and learning process.

Also the lesson presented will become interactive as students will be able to see, read, write and listen which will enable a teacher to monitor students abilities and understandings.
Moreover the school administration will be able to have effective communication with the staff, students and parents. Rather than writing a report to parents, administrators can just send emails to parents and communicate their children's progress.
Despite the fact that i went through a rough time with ICT skills, joining the Aga Khan University as introduced me to the world of ICT. I am starting to cope with the global world. I can now upload assignments, goggling learning materials, creating PowerPoint presentations and share experiences with my colleagues by posting forums. ICT relevance is vividly outshining in teaching and learning that it is very difficult to underrate, i encourage everyone to consider the use of ICT in their daily activities.
